The European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) was developed within the framework of the ERASMUS program in order to provide common procedures to guarantee academic recognition of studies abroad by measuring and comparing learning achievements and/or transferring them from one institution to another.
TiB offer a range of ECTS courses in Barcelona during the Summer months of June and July which take place at an accredited International business school. Full details of these courses, the entry requirements and fees are all included here in this section of our website.

The objective of ECTS is to guarantee academic recognition of studies abroad, enabling students to have access to regular courses alongside local students, with the benefit of full participation in the academic life of the host institution.
Students participating in ECTS will receive full credit for all academic work successfully carried out at any of the ECTS partner institutions and they will be able to transfer these academic credits from one participating institution to another.

ECTS enables further studies abroad. A student may prefer not to go back to the home institution after the study period abroad, but rather stay at the host institution - possibly to gain a degree- or move on to a third institution. The institutions themselves will decide whether or not this is acceptable and what conditions the student must fulfil in order to transfer registration and/or to get a diploma.
